The Department of Cultural Affairs implements a number of cultural programs for the sustenance and promotion of the cultural sector of Sri Lanka and the State Children’s Art Festival is an important component among them. This art possesses a wonderful ability to depict the world they see, their feelings and their attitudes creatively.  This art is a helping hand for the children to instill their creative thoughts.

It is through their drawings that children express the views and interpretations of their experiences. Drawing contributes for the personal development and healthy mindset of children.

The State Children’s Art Festival is an occasion where the little painters throughout the island are given due accolade for their creative works and the state event with the highest number of little competitors.
